Balance

This picture is a good example of balance because there are groups of people gathered around the monument, and in the backround there is a street, and to either side of the street there are buildings that are the same height on both sides.

Lines

I think this picture is a good example of lines because it draws your attention to the cloud by leading your eye from the street and past the buildings the the cloud of the collapsing world trade center.
